Towards ensuring a cleaner environment during the yuletide, management of the Waste Management Board in Udu have started a special clean-up in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The clean-up involved the clearing of wastes from the area visited. Led by the Senior Environment Health Superintendent of the Waste Management Board in Udu, Mr Victor Okrigbolor, the team started the special clean-up at the busy Mofor Junction in Udu Local Government Area.
They cleared wastes in the area into a waiting truck for disposal at the approved dump sites.
The Senior Environment Health Superintendent of the Waste Management Board in Udu, Mr Victor Okrigbolor, said the Special Environmental Sanitation was aimed at ensuring a cleaner environment during the yuletide, saying that the exercise will be carried out in every part of Udu Local Government Area.
The PSP Chairman in Udu, Mr Emmanuel Omavuovworho, while appreciating the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and Chairman of Delta State Waste Management Board, Mr Emmanuel Chinye for their efforts, advised residents to register with PSP for their waste disposal, to save the environment from un-healthiness.
Some residents appreciated the Waste Management Board in Udu for the special clean-up, saying that it will go a long way in keeping the environment clean.
They appealed to the Board to make available refuse bags and drums in various junctions to enable residents dump their waste, which will be easy for the Board to carry away to approved dump sites.
