Travelers on Sunday morning had a hectic time getting to their destination as the End SARs Protesters blocked the popular Effurun roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The roundabout is the gateway from Benin to Warri and from Port-Harcourt trough the ever busy East-West road into Warri and its environs.
Many of the passengers were forced to trek long distances before they could get vehicles to their various destinations.
The protesters converged on the roundabout near the Delta mall as early as 6 am.
They are demanding an end to the activities of the special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS and the newly created SWAT Unit of the Nigerian Police Force, bad governance, poor representation, extra judicial killings by law enforcement officers and oppression.
The protesters insisted they will not leave the Effurun roundabout until their demands were met.
Meanwhile unconfirmed reports say some hoodlums have hijacked the protest in some areas in the Effurun axis to rob road users of their valuables.
