The leadership of the Delta State House of Assembly has again adopted some measures to prevent the spread of the second wave of Corona virus in the Assembly Complex.

Assembly Correspondent, Nkem Nwaeke, reports that the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had directed that all known COVID-19 protocols be observed at all times in the complex.

The Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon Oboro Preyor, who spoke on the development, said besides checking of body temperature, and hands washing, the sitting positions of lawmakers at the hallowed chamber were adjusted in strict adherence to social distancing.

Hon Preyor stated that the use of the Nose Mask has since been made mandatory in the assembly complex, among other measures.

The Lawmaker explained that members will for now be attending plenary in batches in compliance until further notice to avoid over crowded chambers.

Hon Preyor said the Assembly has no provision for zoom sitting in its House Rules, hence the decision for sitting in batches.

He said COVID=19 is real especially the second wave, and enjoined Deltans to comply with all known protocols.
