The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, advised motorists against excessive speeding.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has advised motorists against excessive speeding, especially during the harmattan and dry season to minimize crashes.

The Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar, gave the advice on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun State, noting that poor visibility was associated with harmattan and dry season, hence motorists should reduce speeding during the period.

He added that poor visibility was part of the causes of road traffic crashes during the period which sometimes resulted in the loss of lives and property.

Mr Umar enjoined motorists to have functional brakes and brake light in case of a sudden need to alert oncoming vehicles that they intend to slow down.

The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander also implored motorists to use a front and hazard lights while traveling, especially in the early morning when visibility would not be clear.

He further urged them to obey other traffic rules and regulations, and desist from driving against one way, as that can lead to road violations and mishaps.
