Following wide speculation alleging the killing of a young man in Ughelli by men of the Operation Delta Safe, over the victim’s alleged refusal to allow the operative to search his phone the victim Mr Joshua Ambrose Emuobosa is now recovering and out of the hospital as he sustained bodily injuries during the encounter.
On receiving the report, the Deputy President of the Senate mandated a team led by the Head of Delta Constituency Office, Mr Chuks Ehrime to get first hand details of what transpired and the way forward.
Senator Omo-Agege while thanking God for sparing the life of the young man said governance is all about the people adding that as the Senator representing Delta Central predominately Urhobo people he will not watch any of his constituents being harassed intimidated or assaulted.
The Deputy President of the Senate while reassuring the family that he is with them on this matter why he continue to engage with the government, security agencies on the matter.
Senator Omo-Agege who had been in contact with the family sign the incident occurred also paid off the hospital bill in fulfilment to his promise to the family.
Responding on behalf of the Emuobosa’s family Prince Richard Isiakpere applauded the Deputy President of the Senator for his passion towards his constituents.
Several Analysts had however called for a reform of the police to ensure that there is law and order not to intimate or harass innocent citizens going about their legitimate businesses.
