Despite government’s sacking the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, protesters still went ahead with their demonstration causing traffic gridlock on the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
The protesters blocked the entire stretch of the Lekki-Ajah express.
The demonstrators had announced that workers and others using the Lekki toll gate would experience traffic.
The protesters want the Police to go beyond disbanding SARS, urging investigation and prosecution of all officers accused of murder and assault on innocent Nigerians over the years.
Meanwhile, the protests to end operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS turned bloody in Surulere and other part of Lagos.
A young man adorning a red T-shirt and a black trouser among the protesters died during the protest.
It was gathered that security agents in an attempt to quell the protest fired live bullets that killed the young man.
Another protester was hit as medics were seen reviving him.
Armed Police men were stationed at strategic points to quell the protest within the Surulere axis of Lagos mainland.
Five people have so far been killed in the ENDSARS protest nationwide.
