Narrating the incident, the President General of Elume District, Mr Isaac Akidon and other eye-witnesses said the boisterous wind, which started at about 3:30p.m. Monday after the downpour that lasted one hour.

They noted that, the incident rendered them homeless and Jobless, as their farmlands which is their source of livelihood were destroyed.

Mrs Sarah Overah, said she and members of her family narrowly escaped death, as a tree fell on their roof while they were at home.

She and members of their family are currently taking refuge in a neighbouring Community.

They appealed to the Federal, State and Local Governments to come to their aid, by urgently sending relief materials to them and assisting in rebuilding the affected houses.                             

Meanwhile, the Member representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Felix Anirah and the Acting Chairman of Sapele Local Government, Mr Robinson Tuetue, have visited the Community.

While sympathizing with the victims, Hon Anirah thanked God no life was lost and promised to send relief materials to them urgently.                                  

The lawmaker also promised to notify Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the unfortunate incident and ensure they get government support.

Mr Tuetue promised to give all necessary support to the victims.
