The Delta State House of Assembly has felicitated with the newly elected executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council over the successful elections of the new executive.

In a statement by the Majority Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Tim Owhefere, immediately after Wednesday’s plenary of the House presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sherrif Oborevwori.
Hon Owhefere acknowledged the contributions of members of Union to the success stories of the Delta State House of Assembly, noting that the House happy over the peaceful conduct of the election.
He enjoined the new Leadership of the NUJ led by Comrade Michael Ikeogwu to take the union to higher heights.
Hon Owhefere also charged the Union to sustain it partnership with the Delta State legislature in its avowed commitment to peace and good governance of the state.
Meantime, the Delta State Prohibition of Non Engineering from Practicing Engineering Law has passed first reading on the floor of the State House of Assembly.
The bill is being sponsored by the Member Representing Aniocha North Constituency, in the House, Hon Emeke Nwaobi and two others.
The bill is for a law to prohibit non Engineers from practicing engineering, and encourage the engagement of certified engineers by Contractors and for other matters connected therewith.
The second reading has been slated for Tuesday, 13th October 2020.
