NIGERIA VS SIERRA LEONE : SUPER EAGLES PLAYERS UNDERGO CORONAVIRUS TEST IN PREPARATION FOR AFCON 2022 QUALIFIER MATCH
Super Eagles players were made to undergo coronavirus tests on Wednesday morning as they prepare for Friday’s 2022 AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin City.
The coronavirus tests which was conducted at 10am, was part of the team’s itinerary for the day.
The Eagles had breakfast at 9am before the coronavirus tests an hour later.
At 10:30am, the team held its first training session of the day followed by the team meeting at 12:30pm.
Earlier in the day, there was excitement at the Super Eagles Eterno Hotel camp following the arrival of the trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Chidera Ejuke and Paul Onuachu.
The latest arrivals now bring the number of players currently in camp to 19.
16 players took part in the team’s first training session under floodlights at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Tuesday night.
The quintet of Victor Osimhen, Daniel Akpeyi, Kevin Akpoguma, Semi Ajayi, Shehu Abdullahi and Jamilu Collins are expected in camp later on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles will take on the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Friday, November 13 before flying to Freetown for the return game on Tuesday, November 17 at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
Victory in both encounters will guarantee Nigeria a slot in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations finals holding in Cameroon.
