In August this year Nigeria earned a clean bill in the fight against the Polio disease after several decades struggling to bring the disease under control.

Rotary International is one group that has championed the fight against Polio, facilitating the vaccination of two billion children across the world as it deployed vaccines, men and materials to bring the disease to a halt.

President Rotary Club of Effurun, Fred Ejutemieden said the battle was not over as it would continue to support its eradication in the world.

According to him, Afghanistan and Pakistan were still battling to overcome the Polio disease and will get support from members in Effurun in the zero Polio eradication campaign.

Beyond supporting Polio eradication, the club stretched out a helping hand to traders and artisans in the area as it handed out interest free loans to ten person.

Victoria Eruotor, Mercy Mone, Edore Omonigho, Kenneth Essi and Felicia Esokuta were among those who benefited from the fifty thousand naira interest free loan.

The loan for the beneficiaries is a turning point as it will enhance their businesses.

The interest free loan is similar to the Federal and State Government loans designed to assist businesses brought to their knees following the devastating coronavirus pandemic and the recent end police brutality protests, Godwin Oniyama explained.

As Nigerians take each step into the next year Rotary Club Effurun is convinced it will do more to ease the burden of people in its ever kind gesture of love and care.
