New Special Adviser
: Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has emphasised the need to bring into his administration more competence, probity and firm believers in the advancement of the collective good of Delta State.
The Governor urged political appointees to display fairness and equity in the discharge of their duties for the actualisation of the stronger Delta Agenda.
Governor Okowa stated this Monday while swearing in two new Special Advisers, Mr Emmanuel Ogidi and Hon Sunny Emeyese at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Asaba.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa expressed confidence that his administration stands to benefit immensely from Brother Emmanuel Ogidi and Hon Sunny Emeyese who have over the years displayed experience, wisdom and political sagacity.
The Governor also reiterated the fact that Special Advisers play a distinct role in a modern democratic setting in the area of policy inputs and ability to marry politics and policy to actualise the administrations vision of a stronger Delta anchored on property, peace and progress.
The Governor charged them to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with section 196 (subsection 1) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended and work selflessly for the good governance and development of the State.
He pointed out that his administration had less than three years delivered on its mandate, and remarked that the disruption caused by COVID-19 had placed a demand on citizens to work with a greater sense of urgency, unflagging enthusiasm, creativity and innovative strategies.
Mr Emmanuel Ogidi responded on behalf of the new Advisers and thanked the Governor for considering them worthy to be part of the team to build a stronger Delta.
They also pledged to identify with his vision and work with him to attain the desired objectives of his administration.
Some top government officials including the Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro and Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie attended the ceremony.
