The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called for the setting up of a panel to investigate the allegations of corruption at the State House Clinic, Abuja.

HURIWA also called for the stoppage of resumed medical trips abroad, as well as government’s massive investment towards reviving the moribund health sector, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic spirals.

The group through its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, emphasized that the expenditures of the released budgetary funds for the State House Clinic over the years should be investigated, in addition to a comprehensive audit of the spending on the Clinic and the health sector in the country.
It further called for government’s complete overhaul of the health sector by instituting and implementing the necessary reforms to transform the sector.
