Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has charged all Political appointees in the state to redouble their efforts to help his administration deliver on its promises to Deltans.
Correspondent reports that Governor Okowa gave the charge on Monday while presiding over the swearing in ceremony of the New Secretary to the state Government and Seven Newly appointed Special Adviser at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa congratulating the Newly sworn in Secretary to the state Government and Special Advisers, urged them to work with greater sense of urgency, unflagging enthusiasm, more creativity, and innovative strategies to enable the state Government successfully execute its policies and programmes .
Governor Okowa while stating that the office of the SSG requires a person who is able to marry policy and politics as well as support for the agenda of the Government added that
the SSG must a be a consensus builder, broadminded, accessible, and flexible with a good sense of fairness and justice.
He noted that the New SSG, Chief Patrick Ukah has been an integral part of his administration Smart and Stronger Delta agenda, having served as commissioners for Information , Basic and Secondary Education, and he is well grounded on the working knowledge of the state Government policies and Programmes.
The Governor charged the new Special Advisers, to discharge their duties and responsibilities in accordance with section 196 (Sub-section 1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as they are well acquainted with the key policy thrusts of the administration.
Governor Okowa enjoined political appointees in the state to resist complacency, adding that getting obsessed with 2023 politics would make them to lose track, leading to negligence and dereliction of duty.
While saying that his administration was on its home run, Senator reiterated the commitment of his administration’s determined to finish strong.
Responding on behalf of the Newly sworn in Appointees, the SSG, Chief Patrick Ukah thanked Governor Okowa for the honour done them, and assured that they will not betray the confidence reposed on them.
Those sworn in, included Dr. Kingsley Emu as Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Omimi Esquire , and Chief Isaac Anwuzia as Political Advisers , while Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, Hon. Kelly Penawou ,Chief Andy Asawota, Chief Edwin Uzor and Chief Godwin Ogadi as Special Advisers.
