Hundreds of people in several communities in Siembiri kingdom, in Burutu council area have been displaced by flood leading to their evacuation to make shift camps.
Worst affected in Okpokunu and fix other communities as well as satellite settlement in the area.
Presently, the people are in hardship while those who have chosen to stay back now use canoe to navigate the area.
Many houses have been taken over by the flood and residents say they have nowhere to sleep while their properties have been destroyed.
Siembiri Monarch and former National chairman of trompcom King Ayemi-Botu while reacting to the plight of his people offended to the Niger Delta Development commission, NDDC, Delta State Oil Producing, Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC to come to the assistance of the flood victims.
The Monarch said the level of destructions was enormous and inhabitants suffered immensely as a result of the violent flood.
He also called on NEMA, and SERA and oil prospecting companies operating in his kingdom, to come to the rescue of the people by providing relief materials to cushion the effects of the natural disaster. Siembiri Monarch urged his subjects to remain calm and law abiding, noting that as help will surely come.
