As the protest to end SARS continues to gain momentum across the Country, the House of Representatives has lend its voice in support of the Nigerian Masses.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila in remarks at plenary on Tuesday assured that all families who lost loved ones through police brutality will be adequately compensated.
He stressed that the House will begin a compilation of names of all victims and the compensation will be captured in the 2021 budget cycle.
The Speaker noted that the people have spoken and government have listened.
He commended President Buhari’s firm stand on the issue and lauded the Inspector General of Police for disbanding the squad.
Hon Gbajabiamila also disclosed that the House will begin talks with the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, and Civil Society Organizations on ways to reform the Nigerian Police as earlier resolved.
