Protesting youths in the state have been asked to respect the curfew as announced by the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa Thursday morning.
Director General Security in the State, David Tonwe made this appeal this evening in an interview with Staff Correspondent Linus Chima at the Effurun Roundabout.
Tonwe, who was in company of the Sector One Commnder of the Nigerian Army, S. Ahmed and Navy Commander, Semiu Adepegba appealed to the youths who have been agitating to calm down and allow peace to reign.
He explained that the genuine agitations of the protesters have been noted and reminded everyone of the need to maintain the peace.
Also speaking the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duty, Tunji, said they have been liaising with other youths to ensure peace and orderliness.
He stated that the attempt to burn down Delta Mall was failed with prompt intervention of the Army.
He also appealed to the youths on the streets to return home as their peaceful protest is being addressed.
He said criminally minded persons were now taking advantage of the peaceful protest to harass law abiding citizens and perpetuating all kinds of evil on innocent Nigerians.
