Governor Ifeanyi Okowa stressed that defeating COVID-19 would not be an impossible task if all Nigerians obeyed set health protocols with commitment.
He noted that the ambulances came at the right time, adding that they would be used to attend to patients in isolation and treatment centres in the state and called on other local and international corporate organisations to emulate the humanitarian disposition of the BUA Foundation.
Governor Okowa disclosed that the proactive steps of his administration had helped significantly in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in the state and reminded residents of the state of the need to obey all the laid down protocols in the fight against the spread of the virus.
The Governor, who described the negative effect of COVID-19 on the global economy and the lives of Nigerians, advocated the need for a concerted effort aimed at flattening the curve of the pandemic in the country.
He pledged to continue to do more in the containment of the virus, treatment of victims and overall growth and development of the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of BUA International Foundation, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, represented by the Head Corporate Communications, Mr Otega Ogra, said that the donation as to complement the giant strides of the state government in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
He commended Governor Okowa for the proactive step taken by his administration to keep the virus in check while assuring him of more collaborations.
Highlight of the event was the inspection of the ambulances by Governor Okowa shortly after the keys of the vehicles were handed over by representative of the BUA Foundation.
