The Agbarha kingdom Warri Monarch who spoke through one of his Chiefs, Chief Francis Ugbejevun, explained that involving Traditional monarchs in the identification of those applying for International Passport was necessary in order to avoid issuing International Passports to Non Nigerians to solve the problems of insecurity in the country.
The Ovie of Agbarha kingdom Warri called on the Nigerian Immigration Department to create a column for the signatures of traditional rulers in the documentation of those applying for International Passports.
Ememoh the Second enjoined that his subjects should be considered for university graduates and secondary school employments, menial jobs and be given the necessary attention when they apply for international passports.
The Deputy Comptroller and Head of Passport Department Nigerian Immigration Office, Maureen Amaichigh, in her brief speech thanked the Agbarha Warri monarch for the warm reception accorded her and her entourage.
She explained that the visit was to received royal prayers and blessings from the Ovie of Agbarha Warri.
Amaichigh then promised to forward the requests of the Ovie of Agbarha Warri to the National headquarters of Nigerian Immigration Service, Abuja for consideration.
The Deputy Comptroller appealed to the Royal Father’s to assist the Nigeria Immigration Service to identify non Nigerians that are carrying Nigeria Passport and also inform them of illegal foreigners in their domain.
